Yamata-no-Hydra (八岐秘土羅 Yamata-no-Hidora) was a colossal hydra kaiju that rose from the depths of Mount Fuji and the monstrous half of Yamata-no-Orochi that split millennia ago.

After the mighty beast Yamata-no-Orochi was struck down by Susanoo, it was split into two components, its demonic consciousness which evolved into a sentient being who would be called "Yamata-no-Orochi" in the present, and a monstrous shell that was sealed inside Mount Fuji for thousands of years to come.
