Gamera vs. The Great General of Darkness (ガメラＶＳ暗黒大将軍 Gamera tai Ankoku Daishōgun) is a 2028 Japanese anime tokusatsu kaiju film animated by Daiei Animation and co-distributed by Kadokawa Daiei Studio and Toei Company Ltd. Directed by Sam Imbecile, it is the twenty-ninth installment of the Mahou Kaiju Series, the eighth film focused on the Justice Alliance and the fifth to feature Gamera. It was first released in Japan on December 22, 2028 and internationally made available via streaming on Kadokawa's Magicaworld on May 4, 2028, and through a DVD and Blu-Ray release via the film's "Director's Cut" on July 20, 2029. It is a direct continuation of the anime Justice Alliance of Japan Victory Soul, picking up where the series left off.
The film became one of the most successful theatrical releases in 2028, having a box office opening weekend gross of nearly ¥9 billion and a total worldwide gross of $618.9 million after its six-month run, having surpassed Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train as the highest-grossing Japanese film at the time, before being overtaken by Gamera vs. Aldrych - Demon World Chapter. It is the seventh highest-grossing film in the Mahou Kaiju Series.
